At Cathedral Dental we take a preventative approach. Of course, appropriate treatment is there for when it is needed, but wouldn’t it be great to prevent these dental issues in the first place? This is what we are striving for.

So what can you do? It’s really quite simple. First of all, make sure to brush and floss your teeth at least twice a day. In addition, come to see us for checkups on a regular basis. We recommend twice a year as a working minimum, so we can catch any problems early before they develop into bigger ones. We will then recommend any treatment that we judge as appropriate to your individual case.

We are ready for dental emergencies but we would much prefer to prevent them. Prevention means much more than an attractive smile (although that is one of its benefits!). By taking care of your teeth ahead of time, you will avoid time-consuming and expensive treatment later on. Your teeth will thank you!

Oral health affects your whole body

We now know that advanced gum disease is linked to other health issues such as heart problems and strokes. Unfortunately, gum disease is often painless and slow-acting. It can be difficult for you to detect it until the disease is already an advanced case.

It is therefore of utmost importance to have regular checkups. This way, our dental specialists can verify the health of your gums and teeth before any disease has a chance to develop. Brushing, flossing and checkups form the foundation that will protect your teeth, gums and entire body from harmful conditions.
